Maryland Gets Closer to Same Sex Marriage

Wednesday, May 20, 2009 2:17 pm

For several years the Maryland General Assembly has crept closer to same sex marriage by allowing the conveyance of certain rights. Last year the General Assembly gave the homosexual community preferable tax treatment through several bills.(Click here to learn more)  Since Sen. Frosh is the Chairman of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, and he is now saying publically he will no longer remain neutral in such matters; the citizens of Maryland can look forward to much more homosexual legislation moving forward. I can assure you this man has the power to back up his promises. The barn is on fire!

Sen. Frosh represents a very wealthy district which includes the Bethesda, and Potomac portions of Montgomery County. I know there are several churches in those areas whose doctrine does not include promoting the homosexual agenda. I also know that unfortunately, these great churches are not aware of Sen. Frosh’s intentions. I hope and pray that this blog reaches some of them and they flood his office with questions and register their dismay with his support of the radical agenda of groups like Equality Maryland. I also pray that those churches contact us an join our fight.

It is the purpose of the Christian Impact Alliance to work with the Bible believing churches in an effort to bring back our Godly traditional values beginning with marriage and life. The state of Maryland is under fierce attack and it is up to the church leaders to step up and say “Not on my watch.” We will not allow a small group of citizens who have chosen a homosexual lifestyle to run our state. If the church is not willing to stand for traditional values, who do you think will do it?
We did not get here overnight; we can not get out in a day. Victory requires a long term strategy and a consistent effort from the church. Leaders must become informed on the issues and their rights in order to be effective. Church members must see that the battle lines have been drawn. The barn is on fire, we must grab a bucket and fill it with water and throw it on the fire and repeat the process until the fire is out. It is not easy or glamorous work, but it is of the highest importance. If the church is too busy to do it, who will? If the church won’t fight, who will?

In the book of Nehemiah the wall was being rebuilt by workers who held a tool in one hand and a weapon in the other while half of the workforce was deployed to the front lines of battle. Martin Luther said, “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefields besides, is mere fight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.” In my opinion, it is not time for the church to flinch; it is time to stand together united in battle.

The Christian Impact Alliance is leading the grass roots fight against the attacks on our traditional values by uniting and informing the church community, but we need your help. Go to our donations page and make a sacrificial contribution to this cause. Any amount will be appreciated, but you need to do it today. The barn is on fire!
