Beauty Queen Bashed for Christian Values
I have even heard some say that America’s diversity and acceptance of a broad range of ideals has been its strength. Unfortunately, in the changed America, not all opinions and ideals are welcomed.
I was watching the Miss USA Pageant (my wife forced me) but nevertheless, during the final stage of judging, each of the five finalists was asked a question. Miss California was asked a question about her views on the legalization of homosexual marriage. Ironically enough, the question was asked by a judge who is openly homosexual. She answered by saying “In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be – between a man and a woman.”
This honest reveal of her Christian convictions not only cost her the crown (she was 1st runner up largely due to the openly homosexual judge awarding her a score of 0 for her answer) but the firestorm of personal attacks she has endured is a complete outrage and abusive. Since the show aired on Sunday, the judge/professional blogger who shall remain anonymous has done everything humanly possible to defile Miss California’s character.
I really don’t want to shut this homosexual judge/professional blogger up, I just want those of us with opposing views to be able to express ourselves without fear of assault. The homosexuals talk about how they should be accepted and loved by society, but they do not practice what they preach. I was always under the impression the only place hypocrites could be found was in the church. If an open homosexual were to be criticized like Miss California is being criticized, I guarantee you the mainstream media and others with a visible platform would quickly call for it to stop. It seems that all rights are considered but Christian rights, it seems that all religious views are acceptable and tolerated with the exception of Christian views.
Homosexuality is not wrong because I do not agree with the lifestyle choice; it is wrong because the Bible speaks out against it. It is not consistent with the laws of nature and procreation. I am not judging a person; I am judging an action which is within the scope of Christian righteousness. Our government was established to protect our rights and Miss California has been let down, Christian values have been forsaken and the secular progressive agenda moves forward.
In an interview a day later, this pageant judge/blogger said “Over the course of the past 24 hours, the more I’ve thought about it, the more – you know what?- No, I’m going to stand by what I said just like she’s standing by what she said. And I called her the “b” word, and hey, I was thinking the “c” word.” How can there be so much hatred emanating from a person who is openly battling for acceptance of his lifestyle? I have to wonder how happy this person really is. How happy can any bigot be?
Meanwhile, Miss California is standing strong for her Christian values. She is fully aware that if she had caved in and compromised her values she would have won the crown, yet she has no regrets. She had within her reach a crown of gold and diamonds and a lifetime changed in a moment. Instead, this beautiful young Christian lady chose a different crown and embraced the persecution that accompanies it.
