Hope Came to Washington DC

Monday, September 14, 2009 3:15 pm

On Sept. 12th while literally millions of patriots filled Pennsylvania Ave marching toward the Mall, the sky told the story. On one side, dark clouds predicting a storm while on the other blue skies and white fluffy clouds. This paints the picture of our country as I see it right now. We have the threat of socialistic storms, winds of communism and the hail of tyranny ready to overtake our nation…but there are blue skies of hope on the horizon. I stood awestruck with nearly two million patriots from all over the country unified by love for America and the freedoms of being an American...

We Must Carry Our Own Water

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 3:25 pm

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2. Often I find myself in a group of Christians and I hear them lament over the condition of our culture. They say we are losing the culture war and there is little hope for the next generation. Amazingly enough, they even seem shocked by the decisions of our ungodly elected officials, this really shocks me! To read more click below

Contrast is the Key to Winning

Friday, June 19, 2009 11:52 am

I have heard it all too often that the only way conservatives can win is by becoming more moderate. I believe that is misguided thinking. I also believe it is depriving the voters’ access to clear choice. Huddling in the middle on all of the important tough issues causes elections to be won by a candidate’s popularity not their substance. It is high time for the conservative elected officials, candidates and leaders to begin acting like they really believe in conservatism...click below to read more

Attorney General Forced Into Hot Seat

Wednesday, June 10, 2009 10:44 am

Sen. Richard Madaleno (D) Mont. Co. has requested MD Attorney General Doug Gansler to render an opinion on whether or not MD will honor California’s 1,800 same sex marriages as legal marriages in Maryland. This comes just days after Sen. Brian Frosh (D) Mont. Co. chairman of the MD Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee made known his intention to sponsor and push the homosexual agenda in MD. Can we see a pattern forming here? Can we hear the trumpet sounding? Maryland’s traditional values are under attack and Maryland is in a state of emergency!         click below to read more....

Tiller Killed; Justice Not Served

Wednesday, June 3, 2009 8:02 pm

Being pro-life means a lot more than simply protesting the brutal murder of viable fetuses, or donating money to the local pro-life ministry. Being pro-life involves a deep respect for life and the humanity behind it. In other words, pro-life advocates have a responsibility to carry their burden in such a way as to bring honor to the cause, not shame.
The savage murder of Dr. Tiller was not the fulfillment of justice being served; it was the manifestation of anger that raged out of control within a human being in need of help. I am not suggesting that the killer is the victim; I am suggesting that sanity and respectful living requires a person to maintain a level of control over their emotions and hatred. Killing Dr. Tiller will only bring more reproach to the pro-life movement and further hamstring the efforts of pro-lifers across the country.  click below to read more...

State of Emergency in Maryland

Friday, May 29, 2009 12:29 pm

Last week Sen. Brian Frosh (D) Mont. Co. publically declared his intent to fully back any anti-traditional marriage legislation that comes before his committee in the upcoming session. In the same report, Sen. Richard Madaleno (D) Mont. Co. said; “A decade ago we would have been labeled, at best, a fringe issue,” Madaleno told The Gazette. “Now states are moving forward with it.” As a leader with a little experience in Annapolis, I am declaring a state of emergency in Maryland for any citizen who holds true to traditional values. Maryland Gets Closer to Same Sex Marriage

Wednesday, May 20, 2009 2:17 pm

This past week the Examiner.com interviewed Christian Impact Alliance regarding the possibility of a same sex marriage bill in the upcoming 2010 legislative session.(click here for read article) At the time of the interview, it was an unwritten understanding in Annapolis that no progress would be made until after the upcoming elections. After reading Sen. Frosh’s (D) Montgomery County Dist. 16 responses, I have to believe that the barn is on fire and there is little time to waste. click below to read the complete story...

Dealing With the "Ex Factor" in Church

Thursday, May 14, 2009 9:34 pm

What happens at your church when the pastor delivers a sermon that condemns the homosexual lifestyle? After the fear losing members and the wrath of the deacon who happens to have a nephew living as a homosexual passes, what happens? What happens when someone comes to your church and admits they used to live a homosexual lifestyle? What happens if a church member admits struggling with same sex attractions after hearing a message on homosexuality? These are the questions many pastors face and it can be reason enough for pastors avoid the issue of homosexuality altogether.  To read more, click below...

No Prayer on the National Day of Prayer

By Pastor Rick Bowers • Saturday, May 9, 2009 8:38 pm

The 58th annual National Day of Prayer will be the first without presidential recognition since its inception. While this is stunning news, why should anyone be surprised? Let’s see, in the 60’s prayer was removed from our public schools. The 70’s brought us legalized infanticide…that we now pay for with our tax dollars thanks to the efforts of Planned Parenthood and their political pawns. In the 90’s we as a nation decided that the conduct of an elected official was not to be considered when determining a person’s worthiness to hold elected office. We have been on this road for a while and to me it is like the guy who eats fast food burgers three times a day for a year then looks in the mirror and gets upset with what he sees.

Tyranny of Tolerance

By Pastor Rick Bowers • Thursday, April 30, 2009 4:39 pm

“The frustrating thing is that those who are attacking religion claim they are doing it in the name of tolerance. Question: Isn’t the real truth that they are intolerant of religion?” -  Ronald Reagan,  August 23, 1984

We started out as a union of colonies wanting to experience life without the government controlling religious expression. This aspiration was the genesis of  the greatest societal experiment in the history of the world...America.  Imagine, free people living in freedom to the point of being able to experience God without fear of suppression or persecution.

Beauty Queen Bashed for Christian Values

By Pastor Rick Bowers • Wednesday, April 22, 2009 4:23 pm

Beauty Queen bashed for speaking in favor of traditional marriage in the Miss USA pageant this week. How can a beauty pageant contestant be so blatantly violated for answering a question with an honest answer? Perhaps I am a product of my generation, but I thought that America was the place where diverse opinions were welcomed.

Are You a Threat to National Security?

By Pastor Rick Bowers • Friday, April 17, 2009 1:39 pm

You might be a right wing extremist if you believe in pro-life or small government.
I am appalled at the 9 page report issued by The United States Department of Homeland Security. The report found that people who identify with certain values are a threat to our national security. Those potential extremists can be divided into two groups. 1. Citizens who are with certain religious, racial or ethnic groups. 2. Those who are anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. The report goes on to say; “It may include groups and individuals who are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

Is America a Christian Nation?

By Pastor Rick • Tuesday, April 14, 2009 12:42 pm

If we are not a Christian nation, we must be a secular Atheistic nation, or perhaps a Muslim nation or Hindu. A recent Newsweek poll shows that 62% of Americans polled still believe that America is a Christian nation. Although that is a strong majority, the numbers are declining. In 2005 71% polled thought that America was a Christian nation. The reality is that we were founded on basic Judeo-Christian values by men and women who believed that we have a Creator…God. Our system of government is not designed to work outside of a Christian nation.
